Marni v Milan

Marni,

Can a look which is at home (in the US) be worn on the high street,

to pull off this look you've got to have muscular legs, thin pencil like look makes you look thin and unbalanced,

the same as an emo look (skinny jeans)!

Ultra Marine + Leggings- A Seasons Blunder?!

Predictions from Esquire, are that Aqua Marine will be in this season,

this look, shiny blue, metallic, DKNY, Jill Sandler & Calvin Klein,

a bad look for the self conscious!

DKNY
Jill Sandler

Calvin Klein

Oh and also to set off that colour, leggings?

It seems that the fashionists have come up with a homme/femmo look,

for us the leggings cling to your legs, not filling out your frame, and the blue, well, certainly get you know on the high street,

hats off to the fashionists for pushing boundries, but should we just leave the leggings for the girls?

Hair Cuts for the Summer Part 2

One style that should really be kept away from is shoulder length hair,

number of reasons,

firstly its gone out of fashion- short hair, even if long on top is fashionable,
long hair requires more upkeep, (straightening/cosmetics)

and it hides the neck,

this makes you look smaller!

Hair cuts for the Summer

Its really important to have hair cuts which don't cover the neck,

at the momment many of the models have full hair rather than shaven, this can be a really good look to fill out your head, and stop you looking smaller,

If you wanna go for a shorter style,

then really important to get a style which fits your face shape, a good salon will be able to advise you on this!

Good advice!

Thanks for sum advice,

'i also would like to share that with a suit i do not wear a belt. my pants fit perfectly and people can not see where i get cut in half. so they think i have longer legs.'

Another a good tip to make you look taller, is to wear a tight fittings coat, or one which goes below your waist, pick up some great coats from Next,
this will add to your hight!

Monotone!

Models to the left show the difference between using

monotone and not,

if you have two different colours (A) then its cuts the body in half, making you look smaller,

If you use B then the having both colours unifys the outfit, makes you look taller!

A is not totally monotone, the black in the T shirt connects to the trousers.

Preppy!

Introduce Seth Cohen- O.C.

A good site for this look is www.starbrand.tv, shows all the clothes that make up this look,

as far as style etc labels to look out for are,

Original Penguin polo shirts these look great under cashmere jumpers
For an indie look - VANs- these trainers will help to compliment some well cut jeans!

Good high street shop for this look- Topman- have xs sizes on their website www.topman.com

Importance to this look is simple flat colour, great to create a monotone look which makes you look taller,

If you have slim figure this look will bring out your body shape!

Spring and Summer hot trends!

This seasons looks are (according to GQ),

Preppy
White
Bright Colours
Hats

I think that all these looks are good, but some pointers, hats for small men can make you look too young.

A carefully selected hat might look like an eye catching accessory but really just cover up your head and make you look smaller!

First look we've gonna explore is PREPPY! a look which can really work for the small man!

Introducing ... For the Fit!

A new site which recently became avaliable,

below is a bit of info,

'For The Fit, Inc. is an online menswear retailer specializing in stylish, high quality, and brand-name apparel in hard to find sizes- especially apparel for men 5'9" and under. Their selection includes business and casual clothes and accessories proportioned for men under 5'9". Bestsellers include trousers and chinos in short rise and short inseams, short inseam designer denim, short inseam activewear and pajamas, as well as proportioned accessories such as premium hosiery and ties. They offer a shop by size feature, a "find my fit" consultation service, and a fit and style guide to better serve their customers.'

I think slowly retailers are becomming aware to the needs of small men, personally I think its a good site, loads of different options, chinos, jumpers etc

Also holds some nice designer labels, Ben Sherman, for that clasic look, perfect for this seasons preppy look (more on that in the next post)!

A useful page

One page that seems good for small men is

http://www.ftmguide.org/shortmensclothes.html

Hudsons Guide,

problems with it is that it doesn't address style, its more just the basics,

but a good site,

3/5 stars (check under style the left)
